Getting your AI upskilling funded
How to make your AI upskilling eligible for funding. An overview of grants, education vouchers and evidence, plus the process. Ready to start in 1 week.
Book a Discovery Call
A good AI upskilling programme should not fail because of budget. This format is set up as workplace training from the start, with clean documentation and evidence that a funding body wants to see. Your team builds hands-on on a real case, and in parallel the evidence base emerges that makes grants and education vouchers possible in the first place. We plan scope, challenges, roles, data, tool access and schedule together so your upskilling can be ready to start within a week.
Getting AI upskilling funded means using public grants, education vouchers or programmes such as the Qualifizierungschancengesetz for the qualification. At Corporathon, the format is set up as workplace training with evidence and documentation. Which funding fits depends on the federal state, company size and funding body, and we clarify this in the first conversation.
The problem funding solves
Funding rarely fails because of goodwill and often because of the evidence base. Many AI formats are unsuitable for grants, because they lack exactly what a funding body wants to see. Four points make the difference.
- No verifiable evidence. A funding body wants to see documented qualification, not a loose attendance list.
- No clear educational character. A plain consulting session is not eligible training. The educational share has to be documented.
- No link to deadlines and programmes. Grants and education vouchers differ by federal state and company size. Anyone who does not clarify this early misses application routes.
- No cost transparency. Without a clean breakdown, the eligible share cannot be calculated.
Corporathon starts here. The format is documented as workplace training, with evidence per participant and a cost breakdown that an application needs.
What the funding support covers, specifically
Important up front: we are not a funding advisory service and do not give legal or approval advice. We deliver the upskilling and the evidence base. Whether and to what extent funding applies is decided by the respective funding body. What we specifically contribute are four building blocks.
- 1Upskilling as a fundable format. The AI upskilling runs hands-on on a real case, with a documented educational share and a clear learning goal.
- 2Evidence per participant. Every participant receives a certificate with hands-on evidence and a documented competence measure, prepared for the application.
- 3Cost breakdown. A clean breakdown of the upskilling costs, from which the eligible share can be derived.
- 4Funding-eligibility orientation. In the first conversation, we jointly assess which programmes (e.g. education vouchers, state funding, the Qualifizierungschancengesetz) generally come into question. Filing the application is up to you, often together with your funding or tax advisor.
Benefits and goals
The goal is AI upskilling that stands on its own content and whose costs can be funded.
- Upskilling set up eligibly for funding, with a documented educational share.
- Evidence per participant that a funding body wants to see.
- A working artefact that belongs to you and keeps running, not just cost.
- A documented AI competence measure as a building block for Article 4 of the EU AI Act.
Who it fits, and who it does not
| Good fit when | Not the best fit when |
|---|---|
| you are looking for AI upskilling set up eligibly for funding | you expect a finished funding approval before the upskilling |
| there is a real use case on which qualification happens | only pure funding advice without upskilling is wanted |
| evidence and a cost breakdown are needed for an application | no documentation is needed |
| you steer the application and programme choice yourself with your advisor | you expect us to file the application, which we do not do |
Services and deliverables

- A facilitated build sprint with guidance throughout.
- At least one working prototype per team.
- A certificate with hands-on evidence and a documented competence measure per participant, prepared for the application.

Fundable upskilling vs. a non-fundable format
| Criterion | Non-fundable format | Corporathon set up eligibly for funding |
|---|---|---|
| Educational character | unclear | a documented learning goal and educational share |
| Evidence | attendance | a certificate with hands-on evidence per participant |
| Cost transparency | often missing | a clean cost breakdown for the application |
| Link to programmes | unclear | orientation on education vouchers, state funding, the Qualifizierungschancengesetz |
| Result | cost without output | a working prototype plus evidence |
| Time to start | open | ready to start in 1 week |
The table compares ways of setting things up, not providers, and deliberately contains no invented funding rates. The amount and approval are decided by the funding body.
How the funding can pay off (a model, not an approval)
The real calculation has two parts: the funded share of the cost, and the benefit of the prototype. For the cost share, depending on the programme, part of the upskilling cost can be covered. As a model. If the upskilling cost is 10,000 euros and a programme covers half, that leaves a 5,000-euro own share to weigh against the benefit. On the benefit side stands the prototype. If it takes off two hours per person per week from a task, at a rate of 60 euros and eight people, that is 2 × 60 × 45 × 8, so 43,200 euros a year in freed-up capacity against a 5,000-euro own share. The specific funding amount and approval are assessed by the funding body, not by us. We do the real calculation in the discovery call.

Social proof
Teams from Adobe, YOYABA, Onventis and NavVis have worked with us. We show their names and logos as references and, where approved, workshop photos and public feedback. We deliberately publish concrete figures only once the source, method and period are documented and approved. Everything at /en/case-studies.

Frequently asked questions
Short answers to the questions that come up most before booking.
The format is set up as workplace training with evidence, a documented learning goal and a cost breakdown, which many funding programmes require. Whether and to what extent funding applies is decided by the respective funding body, not by us.
That depends on the federal state, company size and funding body. Education voucher programmes run by the states and the Qualifizierungschancengesetz are commonly mentioned. In the first conversation, we give a general orientation on which routes fit. Filing the application is up to you, often together with your advisor.
No. We deliver the upskilling, the evidence and the cost breakdown. You file the application, usually with your funding or tax advisor. We are not a funding advisory service.
The upskilling takes place regardless of the funding and delivers the same result: a prototype plus evidence. The own share depends on the amount approved.
Yes. Everyone receives a certificate with hands-on evidence and a documented competence measure, prepared for the funding application.
The funding itself does not. But the funded upskilling can document a practical AI competence measure and so contribute to Article 4. It is not an official certificate and does not guarantee automatic compliance.
